12/8/2008 - Corridor Plans Posted
The entire Salem Bike-Ped Corridor is now represented on the "Plans" page of this web site. Aerial views can be expanded to see many details. Meetings with abutters will be scheduled early next year.

12/1/2008 - Survey Drawing Winner
The SBPC Committee updated the Board of Selectmen on progress to date including a review of the survey. Approximately 85% of the responses were in favor of the project. The survey drawing winner elected to give the two bicycles from Buchika's to children at the Salem Boys and Girls Club.

10/28/2008 - Survey Results Posted
Results of the on-line and paper surveys have been tabulated with all details posted on this web site.

10/23/2008 - Public Meeting
The first general public meeting for the project was held at the Salem High Auditorium on October 22. Results of the on-line survey, design concepts, and FAQ's were presented. Overall findings are very positive. Details will be posted on this web site by November 7.

10/6/2008 - Survey Released
The residential survey may be completed on-line from this website, printed and delivered to one of the five drop-off locations, or a printed version can be obtained from the same locations. All surveys must be returned by Oct. 20 to be eligible for a $400.00 bike credit drawing.

9/8/2008 - SBPC Website and Survey
At a Board of Selectmen meeting the Salem Bicycle and Pedestrian Corridor committee announced the pending release of their website and plans for a community survey. The survey will be available both on-line and in print.

8/26/2008 - NH DOT Supports Statewide Rail Trail Efforts
Three NH rail trail advocates met with NH DOT Commissioner George Campbell to help preserve and better utilize former rail corridors. SBPC committee representative Dave Topham presented a letter outlining Salem's plan for our unique bike-ped corridor.
